School Ambassador Leadership Programme
Did you know that the School Ambassador Programme can be used for your Silver and Gold Award?
The National Healthcare Weekend is a Medic Mentor Approved Activity
What is the School Ambassador Programme?
The School Ambassador Programme is open to secondary school students in all years. It is the only national medical leadership programme for aspiring doctors, dentists and vets. The programme provides an additional 3 courses (1 Saturday per term) to help students develop important transferable skills and knowledge that will best prepare them for their future careers. It also gives students extra opportunities to work with a variety of doctors, vets and dentists throughout the year. This ensures that we can provide you with ongoing mentoring to help you start thinking and acting like a medical student in time for your interviews in Year 13 and S6.
Great! How do I get involved?
If you enrol onto the Medic Mentor Summer School Programme, then you automatically become a School Ambassador. We also have 3 funded places per school, which you must apply for. There is no deadline for the application, but as soon as we receive 3 high quality applications, those 3 places will be full. Therefore, it is possible to have more than 3 School Ambassadors per school, if you have a combination of Summer School students and those that have applied for the funded places.
All students will receive a leadership certificate and a reference from the Vice President of Leadership, Dr Sharonjeet Uppal.
