Hi, I really enjoyed listening to the podcast as I’m thinking about applying to Manchester. I saw on the website that they have a really great languages program for med students and you can do an elective from that. Do you know if it’s possible to intercalate and do an elective? Also, what’s it like living in Manchester as a city in general and does it feel really big while living there? Thanks
Hi, you’re right about Manchester having a really good languages program! Off the top of my head I think they do German, French + Spanish, they may do more I’m unaware of. Taking a language allows you to take your SSCP in a country that speaks that language and will make intercalating in one of those countries a lot easier! Intercalation is separate to elective so you can definitely do both! With regards to living in Manchester I personally feel the city centre is a nice size with distinct places to visit in different areas, the student areas are quite large heading down into south Manchester but buses/bikes get you too and from places pretty quickly! Hope this has helped 🙂
