Fantastic job. A great poster done in a very short amount of time. Proven to have worked well as a team and had a taste of what is required from the NHS.
Do you think the government should have limited autonomy by requiring every individual, by law, to wear a mask in public? Would non-maleficence outweigh autonomy in this situation.
We agree that in this circumstance you could argue that the pillar of non-maleficence outweighs autonomy. Now that COVID-19 deaths is ~40k in all settings, implementing face coverings as mandatory would have prevented an incident like Belly Muijinga’s death. However we understand that not only would this need to supplemented with public health education on wear and removal of PPE as well as recommendation of the type of face covering to use as hospital grade masks supply should be prioritised for HCWs. But ultimately, we agree that the pillar of non-maleficence outweighs autonomy in this situation.
